A Walk for All Seasons

Walking is one of the best ways to explore a country and as the changing seasons unfold across the English countryside each brings its own unique beauty showcasing the land in a different way.  The changing seasons also ensure there is plenty of interest on our walks throughout the year.

Spring

(March – May)

The countryside is waking up. As snowdrops, cowslips and bluebells bloom and the cherry trees bust into blossom, the exuberance of spring is impossible to ignore. A welcome assault on the senses, it's like a love affair renewed.

Summer

(June - August)

The English summer brings bright long days and a warm rich tapestry of greens. Colourful flowers bloom and butterflies flutter and the barley waves in the summer breeze. Perfect for long walks and evening strolls serenaded by the skylarks’ song.

Autumn

(September – November)

Autumn offers a truly spectacular backdrop with crisp fresh air and bursts of golden colour. As the sun matures and the shadows lengthen, the famous beech woods of the Chilterns turn rich hues of orange, red and yellow to make autumn irresistible.

Winter

(December – February)

Winter has a dramatic beauty and excitement all of its own. Perfect for a walk to blow away the cobwebs and the bury the winter blues. Sparkling frost, trees silhouetted against the sky, furrowed fields and views revealed which have not been seen all summer. And a cosy country pub awaits us after a bracing walk!
