Navigation Skills
Map reading and navigation are essential skills to equip you for a great outdoor adventure - whether you are a walker, cyclist or trail runner.
We help you to find your way in the beautiful Chilterns Hills, Berkshire Downs and beyond. Our courses are usually based in South Oxfordshire near Henley-on-Thames, Lewknor or Goring. The mix of gentle rolling hills, farmland, woodland and open downland provides a perfect environment for learning and developing your navigation skills.
Don't Follow the Crowd!
Our navigation training is ideal for walkers, cyclists and runners who want the freedom to explore independent of guide books and phone apps. It is aimed at beginners and improvers who want to learn and develop their map reading and navigation skills.
Courses are suitable for individuals or small groups, including families, and can be tailored to your requirements. They also make an ideal gift!
In addition to map reading and navigation skills, we consider your responsibilities as a user of the countryside including access rights, route planning and safety, the Countryside Code and principles of leave no trace. Although navigation is the main focus of these courses, there will always be time to experience the natural and historic environment the area.
